Selection Procedure: Two stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test has been introduced at selection centres. All the candidates will face stage one test on first day of reporting at Selection Centres. The candidates who qualify at stage one will be admitted to the second stage/remaining test and all those who fail to pass stage one, will be returned. (e) Those candidates who qualify stage II will submit the original certificate along with one photocopy each of (i) Matriculation Cert. showing date of birth (ii) Original Degree or Prov degree with all years/parts/semesters marksheets at Selection Centre.
Medical Examination:
 
All candidates recommended by the Service Selection Board will undergo medical examination by a board of Service medical officers. Only those candidates will be admitted to the Academy who are declared fit by the medical board.


Physical Standard : Min. height 157.5 cm , better eye 6/6 and worst eye 6/18.

Pay Scale :


PB-3 Rs. 15600-39000 Grade Pay Rs.5400 plus Military Service Pay and other allowances (During the training, the candidates will get Rs.21000/- as Stipend.

Introduction about the job.

In the “Electricity to ALL” scheme of Govt. of India under Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojna, NHPC has been assigned electrification job of 31,000 villages at a cost of approximately Rs 2600 crores to be implemented on a turnkey basis in the states of J&K, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, West Bengal and Bihar. These schemes are being implemented in a time bound manner on priority basis.

NHPC urgently requires Engineers/ Jr. Engineers in Electrical Discipline on fixed Tenure Basis for a period of one year for T&RE Works located in Srinagar, Budgam, Jammu, Udhampur, Kathua, Leh & Kargil districts of J&K State.

Essential Qualification:
Engineer BE/ B.Tech. Degree/AMIE in Electrical from a recognized University/Institute approved by AICTE with minimum 55% Marks or equivalent grade.
Junior Engineer Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized polytechnic with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.
Age Limit : Upper Age limit for all above posts is 30 years as on 31.03.2010

Compensation Package :

For Engineer: consolidated remuneration of Rs. 15,000/- per month.
For Junior Engineer: consolidated remuneration of Rs. 8,000/- per month.
How to Apply :
Eligible candidates shall download four sets of application form and affix passport size photograph on each copy of application form. The candidate has to bring these four printouts dully filled in along with necessary supporting documents duly attested by Gazetted officer.

Selection shall be made through Personal Interview.

Date of Interview :
The Candidates will have to appear for interview on 23.04.2010 & 24.04.2010 at NHPC Limited, House No. 100, Sector-9, Trikuta nagar, Jammu (J&K), PIN-180012.

Candidates shall report for interview between 09.30 A.M. to 12.00 P.M.

Selection Procedure : Selection will be through written test and interview of shortlisted candidates based on performance in the written test. The Written Test will be held on 27.06.2010 (Sunday)
The written test will be held at Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Guwahati centres. Candidates should choose the test centre nearest to their place of correspondence.
The written test will consist of Objective type questions from basic Engineering subjects/HR subjects, in the respective disciplines / specialisations and General Aptitude.
